– Beau Coleman is a Canadian and British multidisciplinary artist from Winnipeg (Treaty 1 Territory) and Edmonton (Treaty 6 Territory). Her artistic practice includes performance art, interdisciplinary creation, intermedia, site-specific practices, theatre, dance, video and installation. Themes of isolation, intimacy, grief and loss are often interrogated in her work. Beau has received exhibitions widely across North America and Europe, and in Africa, Asia, Oceania, and South America. Her work as a performance artist has been presented in festivals and galleries in Argentina, Belgium, Canada, Cuba, Denmark, Faroe Islands, Germany, Greece, Greenland, Ireland, Italy, the Netherlands, United Kingdom and United States.

Recent performances and exhibitions include: Death Eye 3, DY3CORPIA 3, About Light Gallery, Edmonton, Canada (2021); Time Regained, 2cnd Nieuwstraat Festival, Dordrecht, The Netherlands (2021); Lost/GAINED, FLOW • embody in site, Out of Site, Chicago, United States (online, 2021); Breathe, Art-Mutation, Hamburg, Germany (2021); The Divide, DY3CORPIA 3, Edmonton, Canada (online, 2021) and SOSterria emergencia, Buenos Aires, Argentina (online, 2020); leaves fallen/broken dreams, Inhabiting Time, Edmonton, Canada (2020); and the Lock Unlock Performance Art Project (Core Artist/multiple performance actions, online, 2020-present).

Beau’s curatorial practice includes the Zero Gravity International Performance Art SUMMIT in Edmonton, Canada (2019). She is Co-Director of SPAR²C (Shifting Praxis in Artistic Research / Research-Creation), an international research-creation hub located at the University of Alberta, where she is a professor of theatre and performance studies. She also serves on the Board of Directors of Performance Studies International (PSi). Beau received her MFA from Yale University.
