Eneagram Photo José A. Toledo RibesSheila Toledo Ribes is a conceptual, glass and performer artist born in Irún (Spain) in 1986 but she lives in Switzerland since 2019.

She is PhD student at the Polytechnic University of Valencia, Spain; it is dedicated to the multidisciplinary research between art, science and their possible unity. Previously, she completed her Master of Arts and Glass at the Koblenz University of Applied Sciences, specifically at the Institut für Künstlerische Keramik und Glass (IKKG).

Her interest in the material of glass has not stopped growing because she identifies with it. For its history, nature and its philosophical implications. For Sheila the presence or absence of the individual in the world is an important theme in her work. As well as, the various emotional and rational conflicts that are manifested in our society. A metaphor that the artist describes is about heat, as this sensation can be synonymous with war and love, has had the ability to break the rigidity of glass: society. How throughout the collective and individual history the imprint of things and circumstances is engraved as the rings of the tree trunk. Sheila is constantly searching for the condition of freedom that the human being was born.
